Aren’t Abbi + Josh the cutest?! I am so excited to photograph their wedding ceremony next month and their reception in December! Having to postpone or change weddingplans isn’t easy, but I like to look on the bright side and I sure do love that I get to celebrate with these guys more than once! They had some of answers to our engagement session questionnaire, be sure to read through their answers below! The last one is by far my favorite!
“On April 18th, 2019 I had gotten home from work earlier then usual due to our school going on Easter break. I was looking forward to a long weekend spent with family. Josh had a bowling banquet that night, and I tagged along. Following his bowling banquet, we spent the evening doing a lot of our favorite things. We drove around just talking about our day and the upcoming house remodeling projects, stopped in Dike to fish, ate dinner at my favorite restaurant, played a few games of cards at the casino, and ended the evening at our favorite bar, Casey’s. In the middle of all of our running around, we had made a stop at his dad’s house to “pick up a gift card for the car wash.” Looking back on this, I should have known something was up as I am pretty certain that this particular car wash doesn’t have gift cards. Little did I know, we actually stopped at the house so he could pick up the ring. Casey’s has been a staple in our relationship since the very beginning. One of the first nights we hung out was there for my birthday. That night the bar had been really busy, so I had parked in the Hyvee parking lot next door. Josh had walked me to my car at the end of the night, and that’s where we shared our first kiss. After playing a few games of darts, I was super tired and ready to leave. On our way out the door, Josh made the comment that we should walk over to the Hyvee parking lot for old times sake. I wasn’t really in the mood and told him no that I wanted to go home. He was walking behind me, and nudged my back in the direction of the Hyvee parking lot. He knows me well enough to know that if he challenges me on whether I remember something or not that he’s going to get a rise out of me. Sure enough, he comes back at me saying, “I bet you don’t even remember the parking spot you were parked in.” I took off stomping over to the exact spot we had our first kiss, and before I could turn around to give him the stink eye he had moved in front of me and was on one knee. I eventually said yes, after asking him if he was joking.”
“We originally met through a mutual friend in September of 2014. Fast forward to October of 2015, we ended up running into one another at Beck’s the week of Halloween. We hadn’t seen or talked to each other since the night we had met, & I (Abbi) honestly didn’t think he would remember me. To my surprise he did, and we ended up hanging around one another the rest of the night. He had sparked my interest and, with a little liquid courage, I ended up snagging his phone to add my number (and add myself on Snapchat, embarrassing!) to make sure I would be able to chat with him following that night. Once we started dating we ended up finding out that following the night we met in 2014, we both had asked about each other to mutual acquaintances.”
“Josh makes me laugh more than anyone I’ve ever met. He keeps life fun, yet is always the voice of reason when I need it the most. I love that he’s my biggest supporter, and is always willing to listen to me talk about my “kids” (students) or volleyball. He keeps me grounded when I feel like life is running away with me.”
“I love that Abbi’s passionate about everything she does and shares that with everyone around her. I love that she’s driven and always challenges me to be a better person.”
